ONE OK ROCK's "American Girls" [Official MV]

Hey hey hey!

If you're an OOR fan, I'm pretty sure you've already watched their new music video. What else am I talking about? Duh! Of course it's about "American Girls." But if you haven't seen or heard about the song and official MV, then you're in the right place, my friend cos I'll be sharing the said music video right here on my blog :

Well, a lot of my OORer friends already knew by now how much I love this song. I kept saying it over and over again and I keep on talking about it. It's my favorite track among the tracks in OOR's new album "Ambitions". The song is rather cheesy and it's like your generic American Pop-Rock song that mostly appeals to teenage girls, but what the hell? I love it  and that's all that matters. I don't know about you but there's something about this song that makes me wanna dance and do the head bangs. You'd also probably have LSS with this song once you hear it.

I didn't expect the MV to be like that. "That", meaning, the way they did it. I was imagining it differently. Like in the style of pabebe Pop-rock bands in the US. In my mind, the video for American Girls is, OOR boys would be like having a mini concert in front of a huge crowd of screaming teenage girls and they were singing along and jumping up and down. You know? Like the typical pop-rock videos catered to screaming teenage girls. LOL! But then, lo and behold! It's not the way I was imagining it. Though it's not the best video that OOR have made in the past five years, I think it was pretty good. I liked it. And I liked that it has a story no matter how lame it is! LOL! I don't hate it guys. It's okay and I pretty much enjoyed it.

But what do you think about it? Thoughts?

Throwback to OOR Live in Manila (and 1st Anniversary!)

OOR Live in Manila last year was the highlight of my 2016. And up to this moment, whenever I think about that concert experience it would always bring a smile to my face. It's definitely one of the most memorable concerts I have ever been to. And hopefully, I would get to see OOR-sama live once again. Who knows when? I'm not sure but I hope it'll be sometime in 2018 because I have to save up first, okaaaaay. Hihi.

Anyway, as we Philippine One Ok Rockers relive the moment last January 19, 2016, here's a picture of me with OOR-sama taken during the meet and greet.

I was supposed to be holding onto Taka's waist but when I remembered what the organizers have told us before the meet and greet, "bawal sila hawakan", ibinaba ko yung kamay ko. LOL. Hindi ko sana ginawa. Sayang, eh. But it was evident on the huge smile I have on my face, (in that picture) that I'm so happy to be standing in between my loves Taka and  the outrageously handsome guitarist Toru. Being this close to them is one in a million experience.
They are so adorbs and gorgeous and I look like their yaya. LOL! But anyways, it's truly a dream come true.

Happy OOR Live in Manila anniversary, my fellow One Ok Rockers!

ONE OK ROCK Live in Manila [01.19.2016]

Last Tuesday, January 19, 2016, a magical night happened, well, at least for me and for ONE OK ROCK PH fans. Our dreams had finally come true. I'm relatively a new fan to the OOR fandom and I feel so lucky that I got to see them sooner than I expected. ONE OK ROCK "35xxxv" Asia Tour Live in Manila is one of the most memorable concerts I have ever been to. And it was a good thing that I didn't miss this chance... cause if I did, then I've missed half of my life.

It's been 5 days and yet I still have hangover. I just can't seem to move on. LOL. I can still remember everything that happened that day. From the queuing to the meet and greet event up to the show proper. If there was only a rewind button, I would have pushed the buttons over and over again to relive that moment. And If I could only turn back the time, I would have done better in meeting ONE OK ROCK at the meet and greet event. LOL. The guys look so unreal. I mean, I know they're handsome and all, but pictures did not give them enough justice. The boys are much, much good-looking in person especially the guitarist and leader Toru Yamashita. His good looks are out of this world! Oh my, God! I just cannot!! Tomoya Kanki, the drummer, has a smile that was oh-so-cute! His eyes were even smiling too. And Ryota Kohama (bassist), he is an absolute bae. I never thought he's that guwapo in person. He has a small face and a nice smile.

I wish I could have said something better than, "Welcome to Manila!" while shaking their hands. Especially to my dearest Takahiro Moriuchi (vocalist). All I can say that time is, "Oh, my God!" repeatedly while looking into his eyes and with a smile on my face. I definitely look like an idiot. I was stunned and starstrucked. Taka is too good to be true. Aside from being much good looking in person, he is nice as well. I couldn't form the right words to say, the words I have long wanted to tell him. Puwedeng take two?

Anyway, ONE OK ROCK is really good performing live. And I feel so happy that I got the chance to see them and this time, I’m not watching them on DVD or YOUTUBE but LIVE. Taka is the best vocalist I have ever seen. His voice is undeniably beautiful, it was amazing hearing him live. Even if he was moving around the stage, he can still hit the high notes and there was never a chance that he was out of tune. He sounds much alike in their records. And Toru, Tomoya and Ryota are also good musicians. They were all in sync. I wish I know how to describe how their performance went. But I can’t grasp the proper words into my head. Haha! All I can say is, they are GREAT! They totally rocked our world. Totally the best concert experience!
He just took my breath away. So unreal.

And oh yeah, I think they also love their Filipino fans and the Filipino crowd based on their Instagram posts. They said that the Philippines is the loudest, most energetic, number one crowd they have ever seen! Wow! We are very much overwhelmed! It’s good to know that they enjoyed being here as much as we enjoy their music and their concert. They said that they will come back again in Manila and we couldn’t wait for that! Next time, I promise to do better in the meet and greet if there ever has one again. And I will push the Pulp Royalty again, of course. That is hashtag goals.

ONE OK ROCK- san!

I just hope to move on from this though, so I could get back to reality and with my life. Haay.

All photos are from Rappler. thank you very much. :)

The Way Back (Japanese version) ~ ONE OK ROCK

I honestly am not sure if I like this new OOR song or not, The Way Back. It really reminds me of "Sick Sad Little World" of Incubus from their 2004 album A Crow Left of The Murder. Though, it does not sound entirely alike the Incubus song, I mean, how should I say it? Some guitar parts are kind of similar. You be the judge. But it's nice to know that this song has a Japanese version. This is the kind of OOR that we know. Okay, they have full English songs from the way back, but still, it has the JRock vibe, that ONE OK ROCK signature. Do you get what I mean? But in the 35xxxv album? They sound like any other American bands out there.

Anyways, I've also said this to my friend, I'm not really happy about ONE OK ROCK venturing into the US market, but if they like it, then as a fan, all I can do is to support them if that makes them happy. I just hope that they would not forget their usual stuff. I love their old sound and style. It is the ONE OK ROCK we got to love. I know that a band needs to evolve as it is part of a band's growth, but sometimes it does not turn out in a good way. Okay, people, these are just my opinion and I don't speak for the whole fandom. I know most of the fans are okay with their change. Well, that's their preference and yeah, to each his own.

Btw, this is Incubus' Sick Sad Little World

So what do you think?

PS : It's my dad's 67th birthday today~ happy birthday, daddy!!! Love you and miss you! ♥
