Natsuki Sahara (Takeru Sato) is a rookie detective. He is assigned to work as the #1 detective for the Ginza Police Station, but his father Akimura Shimao (Atsuro Watabe) also works there as a detective. Natsuki Sahara does not like his father at all. After his parents divorced when he was 13-years-old, he was raised by his grandparents. Meanwhile, Akimura is a bit eccentric and a playboy with the ladies. This is in direct contrast with his son who is poor when it comes to dating. Akimura feels bad for his son for divorcing when he did. He tries to help him at work, but has difficulties approaching him in the right way.
I couldn’t remember what led me to watching Bitter Blood. This is my first time to watch a Satoh Takeru drama wherein he is the main character. Anyway, I could definitely say that Satoh Takeru’s acting has improved a lot from his Kamen Rider Den-O days which I think his acting was kinda awkward— haven’t seen the entire season. I’ve only seen a few episodes.
I love Takeru’s facial expressions, even if sometimes it’s over the top. Well, I’ve watched quite a lot of Japanese dramas and I’ve noticed that, having a little exaggerated or animated expressions are known to their acting. But I think it really suited his character well. I didn’t know he could be that effective in comedy. Because for me, he’ll always be Himura Kenshin— who is most of the time, serious and deadly. His acting in this drama was fairly different from RuroKen. Takeru was so into the character of Sahara Natsuki. A very funny and charming detective.
The main characters Sahara and his father Shimao Akimura have great chemistry. And they had a lot of funny scenes together that I couldn’t help laughing my ass off in the middle of the night.
Oh, well, there were some annoying side characters like the guy “Skunk” but he’s tolerable. LOL. I fairly think, their Team wouldn’t be as good without him.
Story-wise, it was really nice. They incorporated action, crime, mystery, comedy with a bit of drama rolled into one in this drama. And they would throw some family values after every episode. This is one of the good things about Japanese dramas. And aside from that, they do not focus on the love angles. And they do not have to have lead characters having kissing scenes. Heck, they could manage a good drama without kissing scenes or love scenes. I wish localteleseryes here in my country could think of dramas like the Japanese’s.
First season seems to be short, tho. We need to see more of them. There were still some questions in my mind and I want answers. I’m hoping they would do a second season or an SP. Perhaps? I really wish.
My friends and I called our 11th year anniversary celebration, "Japanese Night". It's not, exactly, "Japanese", Japanese. We just came up with that idea because we planned on eating Japanese food which by the way, was not entirely Japanese food. LOL. And we watched some Japanese movie and some Japanese variety shows, particularly Arashi's variety shows.
We got,
sushi
which my friend bought at shopwise.
Korean Style Fried Chicken
For the love of Kim Jaejoong, we KPOP-ed our chicken with the help of McCormmick's Korean Fried Chicken Mix.
The product has 4 variants :Soy garlic, Kimchi, Bulgogi and Spicy.
We chose the Soy garlic flavor since my friends are not a fan of spicy dishes.
Pepper rice
My friends liked the one I made for them the last time they were in our house. Friend 1 asked me to make pepper rice again for our Japanese night, so yeah we had it in our menu list. I learned this recipe from a vlogger I always watch on YouTube.
sharksfin
We all know it's Chinese. LOL
And these were all the food we ate last Saturday night.
And this is US. We looked like we're having a baseball game with our uniformed baseball tees. pic courtesy of Donna's IG.
Wow. We've been together for 11 years. It's been so long. I Hope we'll stay forever, even if some us got married. Haha! I've got amazing friends and I'm very thankful for it. :)
I'm effin' excited for March next year!!! My friend and I will going to watch Ed Sheeran X Tour in Manila! Yessssss! OMG!
Hindi ko in-expect na gano'n kabilis mauubos ang ticket ni Ed in just almost 3 hours. WTF. And the good thing was, may nagbayad sa `kin ng kautangan no'ng isang araw. I told my friend right away na mag-undertime na siya sa office at susugod na kami sa SM Cubao just to purchase tickets. Siyempre mahirap nang maubusan ng ticket `no. I wouldn't want to miss the chance of watching and seeing Ed live. So `ayun nga, nagkita agad kami sa Cubao. We thought of getting patron or upper box seat, but unfortunately, the seats were already sold out. But thank God, we secured tickets kahit yung seat na nabili namin ay hindi `yung gusto namin talaga.
I'm happy anyways :). Can't effin' wait to see Ed Sheeran in flesh. ♥
My first reaction when I saw this MV was, "Wow ang payat nani Ed!". My golly gawgaw! Ang payat na nga niya! And he looks more attractive now that he shed some weight. :D Please share your secret dearest Ed! Baka sakaling pumayat na rin ako. :p
Moving on, my opinion about the MV is that it's really romantic. And hats off to Ed for trying to learn how to dance. And it's really nice to see him dancing. I'm sooookilig! You already know how much I like the song (I talked about it in one of my previous entries) and I think it's okay that they made this video like this. I mean, it's really romantic enough for me. No need to act out the lyrics of the song. It would be awesome if they did that though. But I'm not asking for anything like that since I really think they still did an amazing MV for this song. ♥
P/S I'm so inggitnakayateng partner ni Ed. Oh, and I cannot wait to see my ginger baby! My friend and I secured tickets for his X tour in Manila on 12th March next year! :)
I make it a point that I attend every gathering or book signing event, my favorite Filipino author has, because she and my fellow Vanadikz always brings me excitement and joy whenever I'm with them. Hihi.
The beautiful and lovely paper flower backdrop we set up at the PPC store in SM North Edsa for Miss Vanessa's book signing event last Saturday. I feel so pretty. Chos. The small paper flower you see at the bottom of the wall was made by me with the help of my cousin and Auntie. And of course, the bigger ones were made by my favorite Tagalog romance author Miss Vanessa.
And here's the picture of our beloved author Vanessa together with us, readers and fans. (Miss Vanessa is the fairest one in the group.)
Woot woot! Finally, one of my favorite TV series is back!
And season 5 premiere was ah-maze balls!!! I think I'm going to like this better than the last season. I'm hoping so much for this one. More gore and more blood would be an amazing season. Morbid, eh? Well, the first episode of season five was bad-ass. And I like that Carol turned into an ass-kicking woman. I couldn't even remember the woman she was before. Kudos, Carol! I won't talk much about the episode I've seen last night because I don't want to spoil you, people, people who come across this blog and haven't watched the first episode of The Walking Dead Season 5. All I can say is, it redeemed the boring season they last had.
Lol. Anyway, since last week, I've been watching TVXQ's MV and live performances of their singles "Something" and Spellbound. And I must say that I'm most addicted and mesmerized with the song, Spellbound. Oh, I just love it! Lahatna halos ng live performance nilasa kantang iyon, in Music Core, Music Bank, name any music shows in Korea nanasaYoutube ay pinanood ko na. TVXQ is really amazing on stage. I so so love the dance choreography!!! Everytime I'm listening to this song, I had the urge to dance along with it. Para na akong baliw kasikahit nag-aabang ako ng PUV, I couldn't help myself to flinch my hands or tap my foot. Lol.
And the duo are oh-so charming!
May librenghaplos at hawakdoonsadalawa. Lol. But that aside, they were all pretty and hot.
Having said that, here are the videos I'm busying myself with lately,
So yesterday I got a good news. Curtis and Katrina's story is good as approved! Yay! For the first time, in my writing career (at talagang may gano'n?), ngayon lang ako nakatanggap ng 'APPROVED' na feedback from my editor. Anyway, while reading half of the text message of my editor, bigla akong napatilisa office. Approved daw, eh. I'm so effin' happy!
The only catch is, angdamiko raw English at kailangan kongbawasan, pati yung word count ko. Anyway, I'm so happy langtalaga! Thank you so much, Lord for the answered prayer~ :) Ngayon langako nagkaroon ng 2 approved MS in a year. Achievement iyon. hahaha.
I'm still waiting for the release of my 3rd PHR novel. Sana lumabas na ngayong October.
